Lionsgate was an institution that really stood out for me, when researching institution film companies. This research gave me ideas that I could then share with the group for our own logo and moving intro to our film. I like the idea of using a mechanical look with a rusty moving image. The lions-gate horror music works really well and i think it would be effective for it to have links to the horror genre and be easily recognizable for our audience. The music should have an ambient, spooky sound yet not have familiar sound effects linking with our title 'anomalous' deviating from the unknown. With this in mind we brainstormed as a group and came up with the idea of what our institution should look like and how to make it into a animated design.
First design- After brainstorming Rhys started to put together our animated institution. Rhys has great experience in ways we could create a professional looking institution start up and has lots of knowledge and expertise in producing moving animations. Via the Facebook group he uploaded his first efforts for us to give any feedback and ways to develop the idea. We were very impressed with the first design and it had a real professional look about it. The theme tune followed conventions of other institution such as 20th Century Fox with the fanfare like sound effect. The revolving rusty brick animation was created via Video Copilot's plugin 'Element 3D'. It look's very visual and would be recognizable for the audience after seeing a few times. However after researching the lions gate institution we thought that the fanfare sound was not fitting and appropriate for the horror genre are film was to be based on.
So after discussions we expanded and developed the idea further. He used adbobe After Effects CS4 and Sony Vegas Pro 11 to add and edit the music and sound effects. Here are various screen shots of how Rhys designed and created our institution for Unprecedented Pictures.
Here is the completed Unprecedented Pictures Institution Animation.
